Time to Complete: 4 days

This was an unusual class dealing with databases, modeling, and relationships. Having already having a fair amount of experience with SQL, it wasn’t too difficult to absorb the material. The issue is that the uCertify training material is terrible. The cohorts are also terrible and consist of the instructor skimming the uCertify material and reading various sentences. I abandoned the cohorts after about 10 minutes.

I took the end chapter quizzes using the Learn method for instant feedback. Some of the stuff was confusing such as normalization. It took a bit for that to click.

I took the PA and somehow scored in the exemplary range but didn’t feel comfortable with the OA. I googled around for some videos on normalization and ETL since the training material lacked relevance.

After consulting reddit, I discovered that the OA contains a few questions regarding business intelligence that aren’t covered in the training material. There’s a link in the course tips to the business intelligence guide. I had a few questions regarding data mining that came from this guide. It’s ridiculous that this isn’t covered in the training material at all.

I studied a bit more of the end of chapter quizzes and watched some databases videos by Caleb Curry which helped. Took the OA and passed at 80%.
